Repair crack in casting

when cleaning up my new TO35 for painting, I discovered a crack in the casting under the seat where the lift arms attach. I don't know what the name of this part of the tractor is. This is my first attempt at a restoration project. I'm attaching two photos. Any suggestions on the best way to repair this is appreciated.

That's good advice. There is a lot of force on that part and replacements exist. If it was very rare I could do it, but it would cost a lot And making a new part would be better

You might want to look a little deeper in that tranny, therre might be other things broken if it froze up. Just my thoughts, Keith

When you do repair or replace the cover change the pressure relief valve , this is the single most common cause of lift covers cracking . Cheap and readily available insurance .

If it's not leaking I would be inclined to fill the crack with PC-7 epoxy and paint over it. You might do more damage to it trying to weld it than it's worth.
