JD 420 T Dash Color

I have a 1957 JD 420 T and I need some help.

What color should the removable Dash panel be? I have seen some Black some Green, which is correct. In the operators Manual which is in black and white it appears that the dash panel is a different color than the rest of the tractor but as I said that is in black and white.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated .

According to the 20 series book the 420 T beginning at serial number 125003 is a 1958 year. All 1958 20 series had a black dash. The John Deere med gloss black paint matches the black instrument panel light and the black bezel gauges perfectly. Hope this helps.

These answers helped a lot, mine is a 1957 based on several things other than the serial number since that is nolonger on the tractor (lost to the world).

I will paint mine Green to match the rest of the tractor.
