JD4320 Has Lost RPM's - is it the injector pump?

Tractor starts good. Would go to full RPM for 15 minutes and then it would drop itself to idle at full throttle. Kept getting worse, dropping sooner. Now it starts and will only idle and even die. I changed fuel filter and cleaned air cleaner. It is getting fuel to the injector pump. Is the problem the injector pump and if yes, how to I remove it?

Yes most likely elastic ring went and is now clogging return.
Pull cover with 2 small screws line up mark by turning engine
over reover lines linkage and two bolts/nuts holding it down and
get it repaired. Line up mark when you reinstall and be carefull
with cupped seal in pump if shaft comes out and you should be
good to go after you prime it.

Are you sure you have adequate fuel delivery to the pump? Often times the tank strainer is partially clogged restricting fuel delivery. If the temperature is below freezing, do you have summer fuel in your tank? Any signs of water in the fuel?
I would check out all these things before I think changing out the pump.

Thanks for the help! When I took off the timing cover, I already found rubber pieces. I sent pump in for a total rebuild and they found many worn rubber pieces. I put the pump back in and the tractor runs great.
