400 Farmall only steers left

Tow Mater

It's been a long story but I laid the tractor over, broke the lower front axle pivot bolster, used it anyway so eventually the front end came off of the pivot pin and broke the ball on the wishbone. I straightened the tie rods, connecting link, replaced the broken ball parts and bolster (with factory unit, not Schwartz) and now it only turns from left back to almost perfectly straight and back and forth repeatedly. It stops hard, dead in it's tracks, not a tightening, slowing, grinding and binding type of stop at the approximate center position. The steering arm is not contacting the bolster and I cant find any contact issues. The power steering box is a little loose but only has a small amount of play. I did have to replace the bearing at the very front of the steering shaft (where it goes down towards the axle) and pulled out as much of the broken bearing pieces as I could a year or two ago but can't believe if that was the issue it would always stop at the same place.

(quoted from post at 06:57:58 12/02/14) Tow, take the steering box loose from connecting link and place steering wheel in center, same amount of turns right and left.

Thanks. I didn't want to waste my time doing that since it was never disconnected but it does sound logical I'm eager to give it a try. Any suggestion on the easiest place to do that?
