I posted this up on the MH board and struck out. This is the main bearing cap. I am trying to see if any or what thing is supposed to connect to this brass fitting inside the crankcase. helping a friend, I did not see this taken apart. I posted this previously with out the picture and was told It did not exist. Well there it is! NOW what is it??

I do not know what connects to those fittings.
Please consider that this engine must obtained oil pressure from some source to supply pressurization to the MAIN JOURNALS,CONNECTING ROD JOURNALS and VALVE TRAIN in some fashion. You may whish to look at the supply oil inlet piping arrangement to the Engine oil pump as well as the discharge point of the Engine OIL PUMP. Once you have established how and at what point the oil discharges from the oil pump follow the path of flow. Does the oil flow through drilled passages and then exits the ENGINE to a FILTER and then back into the engine block. Or possibly is there an internal oil line that must supply oil pressure to the MAIN JOURNALS, which in turn are cross drilled to supply oil to the Connecting ROD JOURNALS.I was given a "PARTS BOOK MASSEY-HARRIS 44G,K,LP TRACTOR" Serial NOS. 40001 AND UP" This manual has NO indication of the MAKE or MODEL of the ENGINE. Manual printed "7-53"
Here are several pictures from the "PARTS BOOK" for what it's worth.
