I followed everyone's advice and took my TO30 apart at the transmission. Sure enough the PTO was twisted. I cut it out with a 3" cutting wheel. Now I am putting it back together but can't find a gasket anywhere. It's the transmission case to center housing gasket. I have called all the Restoration Parts suppliers. Does anyone have an idea or where to obtain the gasket?

If you can't locate a pre-cut gasket you are limited really to only two options. Obtain a piece of sheet or roll gasket large enough and cut out your own, I use a ball peen hammer on the casting itself or use some modern RTV sealants, ultra black, ultra grey, the right stuff, ect.....

i havn't searched much for fergy gaskets, but i'd go witht he following 2 options. option 1 first, option 2 last.

1, get a sheet of gasket paper or poster board? tape it up tot he flange and set down with a ballpeen and slowly tap out your gasket using the rounded edged tapping thru the paper to the flange. you can also use the flat smooth first and tap all around the edge to get a rubbing imprint, then go at it with the round edge.. that should all but completely cut it out. then just trim with scisors or utility knife and go.

2, clean both flanges squeaky and then get a tube of 'right stuff' and apply it as per instructions then join.

note. i didn't say permatex.. or rtv. 'right stuff' is a different category of material. many oems actually use it in place of gaskets. I've bought head kits that had a small can of that in there in leiu of a v-c gasket, and that was spec'd by the oem ..

Yep...I just looked and the gasket is still available from Agco. The original number had been superceeded a couple of times. The current part number is 3910273M1.
