while adding coolant to my recently purchased 1950 jd b, a small stream of coolant started to come from under the engine in the region of the head. it is on the left side of the head away from the bolts and I can stick a small Phillips head screwdriver in it. it appears to be round but I cannot identify it in the parts list. any ideas as to what this hole is, its size, and how I can stop it up?

The fluid has stopped dripping and I was able to insert a tapered steel punch in it. The hole appears to be round (as if made by a drill) and it measured 1/4" on the taper.

Posting a photo or two might help. I THINK they did have freeze plugs, but it's been a long time since I owned mine, and memory might be fuzzy.

There are NO "freeze plugs) or even "welch plugs" (LOL) used in the cylinder head or block of a GREEN "B".
