1466 T/A, brake, steering problem

I have a problem with my International 1466. The t/a won't stay in high, when the steering is turned it balks, the brakes have to be pushed like crazy to make them work. It has a new mcv pump, new oil and filters. I'm wondering if the flow control valve is sticking or something. The torque slips when used to pull something and sometimes it will lock in and sometimes it won't. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Thanks!! :D

If your other hydraulics work properly I'd say your prioritizing
valve is stuck. If not there's some other options. I would start by
getting the appropriate o rings and pull the valves out of the
main valve. Its located on the right side of the tractor right after
the clutch housing. When I say this I dont mean remove the
valve or the main spools there are at least three plugs on the
side of the valve which are accessible from the outside of the
valve. Take them out clean / inspect them and put them back in
like they came out. There is one facing the back of the tractor
close to the bottom that is the main pressure regulator. Before
reinstalling that one crank the tractor, do not start, till hyd
shoots out the hole. I have done this on many units to flush
small debris from the valve. If that doesn't fix it let us know.

So, I followed your excellent suggestion. After I did as you directed, I took the tractor out and drove it around in circles, lost all steering and brakes for about 30 seconds. All of a sudden, everything came back. I hooked it to a 23 foot Landoll disc to work it and make sure the problem was solved. So far, everything works fine. I can spin the tires in the dirt now. Pulled the torque four or five times. Hopefully, the problem has been resolved.

Thank you!!!
