First of all, if there is another post somewhere with this info, I apologize, just direct me to it. I did a search and didn't find one.
I recently purchased my first tractor, a Ford 641 Workmaster. After a fair bit of research it seemed like it was a good tractor with a lot of online resources, thanks to places like this forum. Of course there were other models, but this was the tractor that was available for what I feel was a fair deal.
A service manual will hopefully be shipped soon, but in the mean time, the starter keeps hanging and I'm trying to take it out to have it rebuilt. Just not sure what bolts to undo to get it out. There are 2 screws on the face of the canister, and 4 bolts on the back of it going into the body. Should I take out all 4 bolts or just the 2 screws on the canister?
After those come out, will the starter remove fairly easily or what else will I need to know to get it out successfully?
I'd consider myself fairly handy, but don't have a lot of experience working on vehicles other than regular oil changes, bulb replacement, etc.
Thanks for any tips or pointers!
