Restoration

Just joined the club. Also just picked up a farmall A. Before I dive into it, I'd like to see if she runs. Which manual(s) would be the most helpful. In other words, step 1 of this process. I have restoration experience in other machines but not tractors. Figured I'd ask for advice from pros first this time. Thanks.

Do all your mechanical work you need to do first. If its not complete, find anything that is missing. Find anything that you won't be using that needs replaced. For example, if your going to replace a smashed up grill, find one before you get involved in the re-painting process. I wished I would of bought better paint than I did, and maybe should of done a clear coat. I would recommend sand-blasting, but you got to be really carefull about not getting sand into places you don't want it.

Forget the "IT" and repro manuals. Get on e-bay and get originals if you can. Get operator , service and even parts manuals if you can.

I was just on e-bay and they have the full set of all three for $60 and free shipping.Found no "originals" but these look like really nice re-prints and very good price.
