1946 john deere b

I just bought a 46 john deere b and I believe the governor is messed up. When it runs it only has low idle speed and high idle which sounds way too fast. I was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem before. Thanks for any help

That could be as simple as gov to carb linkage binding some place or a bad gov. With it running and at idle try to push the linkage to speed it up. You should feel the gov. try to slow it down. If you don't then the gov has a problem if it does then check that all the linkage moves freely
