wfully open ended question, but the answer is 1)piece of cake for some, 2)difficult for others, 3) impossible task for others.

in addition to what Jmor said.

it is ( should be ), easy to use the existing 6v / genny wire harness, to convert to a 12v system with alt.

remember to swap the battery out and arouynd, rewire ammeter if it has one, flip coil to match bat polarity, change out headlamps.

use the field wire running to the alt to provide excite power to #1 terminal if you use a gm delco 10si alt... just wire a lamp inline from key to the #1 wire. a 168 or 194 bulb should work.

wire #2 to charge stud.

wire charge stud to old armature wire.

at back of dash, remove old vreg, wire off ground wire.. use the field wire for your key to #1 connection, and wire the armature and battery ( from reg ), wires together.

there's only a few feet of wire on any pre 65 ford tractor. I never buy harni.. i just make them with looming... too easy..

yeah i bought the harness and its more complicated then doing it the old fashioned way the best part is the diagram for the harness describes things that are not in the kit its so broad and vague that your better off with using google
