I have a ford 9n that i installed sure seals on both sides ( due to severe oil leakage ). I removed probably 6 or 7 shims total, I only put 4 new ones back, the thin paper kind. Now I have probably 1/16 inch end play on my axles. I think that 4 shims is the minimum that I can put to still seal everything, but I'm worried about the 1/16 end play. I did not check end play before I took it apart.
When comparing the old shims to the new ones, the new ones total thickness is about half of what I took out.
Has any one experienced this before, if so what was done about the end play?
