fuel in oilpan 4500 ford backhoe

I am taking a guess that it is a diesel rig not gas right?? If diesel the injector return lines can do that as well as seals in the injector pump.

Thanks for the information ya the backhoe is a diesel I guess before I send the pump out to be rebuilt It's nice to know more about what might be wrong. Thanks Alot for your help

Ya getting the injector pump rebuilt is a lot of $$ but if it is caused by the return lines that is a cheap fix

Thanks for all the help!!!! I have been puting fixing my tractor off for to long because I don't know all that much about it. I'm on it now Thanks again

When do you notice there is fuel in the oil? After its been run? After its sat a while? 3 cylinder diesel correct? My money is on the pump shaft seal.

If it was the older 4 cylinder diesel I could see the injector return lines under the valve cover being a source as well, but not on the '65 and up engines.
