1938 Oliver 70 troubles

I have recently bought a 1938 Oliver 70 wide front (row Crop) that has been sitting in the weeds of a small farm for about 20 years. Lots of parts have been replaced or fixed with unusual materials that don't match the tractor. when first looking into the engine the 6th cylinder sleeve is cracked in various places and the piston is stuck. Where can I get a new cylinder sleeve for this tractor and why does a Row Crop have a wide front?

Maibach Tractor in Creston Ohio is a great source of parts and info on the 70. A wide front on a 38 is extremely rare and is most likely an aftermarket as they have always been available. There are many people who believe that as soon as you let out the clutch on a narrow front tractor that it will roll over.
