john deere la generator pulley line up

Restoring 1941 LA and can not get the generator belt to line up with the fan pulleys. I have put spacers behind fan pulley, but that pushed fan into radiator. I can not find pictures and have bought service manual which did no good. Any suggestions would help.

Did you get the bracket on right? Not upside down?

I think I did, I have turned it around and tried that way and it seems to throw the generator pulley too far back in relation to the fan pulley but I"ll try again.

I wish I could see some pictures to see what it looks like correctly

Where is everything in relation to the crank pulley?

The crank pulley is probably still where it belongs. The water pump pulley may have been changed if it doesn't line up. Get those lined up first, then modify the generator bracket or change the pulley so it lines up.
