Hey guys I bought a 1944 Farmall H back almost
three years ago and have been slowly restoring it.
So far I have spent a lot of time stripping the
surface rust and repainting it and now am into
more of the electrical problems that she came
with. It is a 12 volt system in it now because the
former owner decided to switch it over but did so
by adding a 12v car alternator and mickey moused
switches and wires everywhere. I have a 12v Delco
Remy generator and voltage regulator and have been
told to take out the solenoid that was rigged
under the hood but don't know where to really go
from there. I have wrecked electrical systems in
small engines in the past before and would really
like to do this the correct way. I've looked up
the wiring diagram for one with a distributor like
mine but it still makes no sense to me. I was
hoping I could get some actual photos tracing the
wires through the ignition system to hook up a
toggle switch and push button starter. Thank you
for your help. If pictures are needed just let me
know.
