Ford 6000 tractor alternator wiring conversion

I purchased an alternator conversion from yesterday's tractor for my 63 ford 6000 series diesel tractor. I've mounted the alternator up to the engine and it is working, I need to know how to wire it into my existing system to properly charge the battery. Can anyone please help me with a good wiring diagram..

the 6000 is a bit of a redheaded stepchild for ford, and I am less familiar with them than it's contemporary models.. however.. assuming it came from the fatory with a regulator and generator.. just find the load or battery line on the old reg and use that as the connection point for the charge wire from your new alt. the tractgor electrical system can't tell if the power is coming from an alt output.. or the bat connection on a vreg from a genny..

Ok cool did that. Now what do I do with the other two wires that were hooked up to the old generator? One I know is a ground and the other seems to have very low voltage when the key is on. Also the alternator is internally regulated. Won't the original voltage regulator cause me problems with charging?

you no longer use the field and armature wires that ran to the OLD genny.

you are not using any of the innards of the old reg. your charge out line from the alt is merely tied to the OUTGOING bat line that plugged into the old reg. you are not using the old reg.. except maybee as a wireing point place holder.
