Manure spreader floor chain link

I have (I think) an International manure spreader. It's a pretty small one. One of the floor chain links broke and from what I can find out it appears to be an S detachable link chain. From looking at the charts the length (pitch is just shy of 3", the width is just about 2" and the inside dimension is just over 1" ( I'm in the house and using wifes sewing tape) So I figure it's a S link. Where can I purchase a repair link for it? I see some of the smaller links like the 62 has a connecting link that uses a pin & cotter pin to repair the chain. Does anyone know where I can get one of these or a couple of the links. I really don't what to spend 70 dollars for 10 feet when I only need 1 link. Thanks in advance, Keith

After you pitch a few loads off because another part of the chains break, you'll want to replace them completely. It took 3 go'rounds with my Cunningham and son co. spreader and that's when I replaced mine.

Neighbor has been using it for the past 4 or 5 years and got a rock caught in it & broke the chain. All she uses it for is sawdust and horse droppings from her stall, but they loaded it with a loader after it was pitched outside and the rock got in there. I really don't think the rest of the chain is bad. I found some at Shoups and at $70.00 for 10' it can get pretty expensive real quick to just loan it out again. Thanks for the reply, Keith

Keith, if it is detachable steel chain, you don't need a "repair link".

The repair link (with a pin) just makes it a bit easier.

If, in fact, you have "S" series detachable chain, all you need is one standard link.

Give these guys a call, I've never personally dealt with them, but have heard good things about them.

Thanks Bob. I was just looking for the easy way to fix it, but after checking with Shoups, I just bit the bullet and ordered a regular link and will fix it the proper way LOL. Keith
