I have discovered water in my hydraulic fluid of my 880 db.I drained the fluid and replaced it however was not able to get rid of all the water, it is still a little milky. After machine worms up lift controls become sluggish to nonoperable. could this be due to water or does pump need to be rebuilt? any thoughts.

if it were mine ,,. I would try serveral things 1st ,, change the filters,, add 2 or more redbottles of HEET to the hydro oil,and a bottle of lucas hydraulic and or tranny fix , and run it serveral hours if the water prolem is severe ,, change all that fluid out ,, ,, repeat the entire process .. if no improvement ,, then the hydro pump is more than likely bad,, however, there could be other things causing this ,a pluged pikup screen ,??, go over to case forum and post to rg martin ,, he knows d brown well ,

I have also put about a 80/20 mix of diesel hydro fluid in and ran for a bit and drained and replaced with proper fluid to clean out water.

What helped me get rid of the dreaded milky fluid was drain several hours, 40/40 mix K1 & UTF and 20% ATF & isphoryl alcohol. Run 30 min & let sit over night. Run some more then let drain a few hours. Change any filters, open any bleeders, crank to get any left out of pump. I then poured clean fluid in bleeder then fill hole to let some clean run out drain. Then close & fill. Also find out why & how water got in there.

I had a tractor with water in the hyd. fluid and the best way I have found (after wasting a lot of money tyring to flush with good oil) is to drain it and fill with Cenpeco hydraulic oil. The Cenpeco will actually separate from the water and you can drain it off the bottom. I took my drain plug and had it drilled and tapped for a drain cock in order to make the process much easier. I would run it a bit. Let it sit a few days and then drain the water off the bottom.
