John Deere transmission full of rust(shifters)

Any one work on a transmission that is full of rust? How did you go about it? I know I need to open it up and and take everything out. Can all of the parts be saved? Thanks

I rebuilt a two speed planetary powershift once that had had water flowing through it for a few years. It just takes time. Not likely that you will save bearings or seals.
