Case 310, 1957

My Dad left me this old Case Tractor 310 made in 1957. Was running when parked 5 years ago. Tractor has 12 volt battery, so I assume it has converted. All wiring is shot, would appreciate 12 volt wiring diagram. Also need firing order.

Thank You

Case made the 300 in both 12v and 6v depending
whereit was made Racine or Rock ISLAND so it could
be original

Firing order is 1342.

The wiring is really basic. Should be able to take one wire at a time, figure out anything in doubt by process of elimination and searching basic tractor wiring and generator circuits.

It's not original, but the split plastic wiring conduit from the auto supply makes for a nice job.

Chuck,
All the 300's came from R I. Early ones were 6V positive ground, with 2 bolt starters. Later 300B's were changed to 12V when the newer 148 block with flange and 3 bolt starter came out. All R I tractors through 600B's were positive ground.

From our Case dealership arcives. you may have to enlarge it for clarity.

Interesting, I will be starting this project this weekend. I have noticed a small resistor block that looks melted. Any clue as to what that could be ?
Thank You

Chuck,
As I stated, all small framed Case tractors were built in Rock Island, up thru the 4/570s. there was never a 300 or any other small framed Case tractor built in Racine. Racine built the large frame tractors, such as DCs, LAs big 400s 500s 700s-70,- 90, and 94/96 series tractors. etc.

The resistor is probably for the ignition coil,
that is if it's in the line between the ignition
switch and the coil. (I'm assuming this is gas, not
diesel!)

Resistors get hot, that's just their nature.
Possibly the resistor is still good, maybe just
something melted on to it...
