McCormick W6

I have a 1946 McCormick International W-6. It ran when I bought it about a year ago. I drained the gas tank and put fresh gas in it. It had been having fuel line problems, which I was able to fix. But it still won"t start. I checked the plugs and noticed they weren"t sparking. I checked the magneto and there was no evidence of burn marks. Needless to say, I think I need a new magneto. Any suggestions on anything else I could try to get running or repairs I could make to the magneto? Thanks!

what greenmech said. Since no spark your problem probly is in the mag and not on the fuel side. I would almost bet the points are corroded and need to be cleaned up is all that is wrong. Worse case, replace them and maybe the condenser for starters.

I haven"t worked on International magnetos much so this might be a stupid question, but where are the points located? Thanks.

Well, I am pretty much only familiar with the F-4 mag. I believe the mag you should have would be the H-4. On the F-4, it was really easy. You just took a cap off and they were right there. I don't think it was quit as easy on the H-4, but I wouldn't think you would have to take to much apart to get to the points if you wanta just take a stab at it. Otherwise perhaps someone else can give you some detailed info.
