Shear pin on PTO mower

Sheared the PTO bolt off, and apparently not cleanly: It won"t mow tough stuff but can"t seem to drive the collar back to where it needs to be to drive the broken bolt out of the hole (both ends of the bolt sheared leaving the stub in the middle). Apparently, the bolt didn"t shear cleanly and is now binding the collar to the input shaft of the mower.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Just gotta do what you gotta do...

When the bolt sheared it cut a groove inside the collar. Just going to have to apply enough force to get it off. Continuing to run it with the sheared bolt is only going to make it worse.

It's a dilemma, I fought one several hours till I got it lined up. BFH and lots of pounding. I chained the blades so the shaft couldn't move and used a 24" pipe wrench. Very frustrating.

I was telling my sad story to one of my buddies and his technique is to chain the blades, engage PTO till it wears enough to line it up by hand. IF your using the correct shear bolt it should be softer than the metal in the drive line.

I have fire ants and their mounds can get hard as rocks. I got tired of changing pins and went to a slip clutch.
