Clean inside of tractor rim for the tube

My front rim on my 9N is deflating the tube because of the inner rim surface. How can I restore the surface so this does not happen.

I use a product called por15. It is a brush on rust conversion primer. Wire brush all the loose rust off the inside of the rim, then apply two coats. When fully dry install tube and good to go.

This is going to sound ridiculous but if you clean them, paint them and they're still rough tightly wrap duct tape around the wheel. If you cover everything with it it will give you a smooth surface that won't eat the tube.

I'd keep the N ! will still be a good tractor in another 50 years, the NH dealers round here couldn't give the boomer away. If an N is the right price it will sell all day long. The boomer seems to be over priced junk, and the couple I saw in local classifieds didn't sell well either. Several major price reductions before the disappeared.
Regards Robert

I sand blasted these rims off my lawn trailer. I should've removed the tires when it was new and sprayed them with an epoxy primer and hardener.
I installed tubes due to the pin holes. Hal
