JD 70 radator core replacement

when replacing the core. The bolt in the tanks are in bad shape. when heated how hard are they to remove?

I just get them out the best I can and use new bolts.

did an 830 two years ago. took it slow with lots of heat, got them all out. bill

I have re-cored 4 "D's", and a 620 rad core. I welded a flat washer to the broken studs and then a nut to the washer. The net day they backed out with no problem...I've used both 7018 and 7014 rod.

Thanks, I still concerned about heating the cast iron tanks?

I always take a sharp chisel and cut old core out so I can get heat to bottom side of casting.
