my 430 case is leaking hydraulic fluid into the transmission how big a repair is that going to be?

Chances are, the seals on the 3pt piston are leaking. The piston is in the tranny cover under the seat.
Drop down to the CASE board, and repost. This situation and several other posabilities have been discussed many times. The guys there can walk you through the repairs and also direct you to sources for the parts you need.
