Leaking hydro oil

Hi, I have a 1966 jd 2020 gas with front end loader. A couple weeks ago I started it up cold (-29 below) and it started leaking hydro oil out of pump. I pulled the pump off and saw the seal had been pushed out. Installed new seal and put the pump back in. It will run now for half hour or so then start leaking again.
Any ideas on the problem? Thanks!

I don't know the system on your tractor but it sounds like bypass valve might be sticking and pressure is blowing seal .

There is a seal (quad ring) farther inboard in the pump that does the actual sealing of pressure, then a cavity that connects to a "weep line" back to the transmission housing, then the outer seal.

Little or no oil should get past the ring, and need to drain back to the reservoir.

Once it leaks worse than what the line can handle, the pressure pops the outer seal.

At the least, the inboard seal ring has failed. Beyond that if the shaft is worn, or the bearings are worn/loose and the shaft has play it appropriate repairs will be needed.

Many hydraulic pumps have a "Pinhole" drilled
from the front bearing area, to the inlet port
of the pump. Some lube gets into the bearing
area, to oil it,and/ or, when shaft gets worn, oil
that lubes the shaft gets drawn back through the
suction port, through the pinhole. When the pump
or bearings are worn out, more oil goes through than the suction port can handle, and it pops
the outer seal. Many pumps are "Non reversible".
On "Reversible" pumps, when disassembling, and
reassembling, in reverse rotation, it is vital
to note the position of the "Drain Port" !

Thanks for the help guys!! I'm new to the tractor world and know very little about them. The shaft feels tight with no play. I ordered a seal kit for the pump to see if that fixes the problem. I'll also make suse the small line from the bottom of the pump to the tank is not plugged.
