Brake Parts - 1959 Viking 40

1959 Viking

New User
Hello all - I am a new member who needs some help with a restoration project. I am the proud new owner of a 1959 Viking 40 flatbed and my first order of business is to get the brakes working. I want to replace the brake cylinders and possibly master cylinder with new - any suggestions where the best place (on line) to purchase materials?

Thank You

Not sure about online sales, but I have been able
to find obscure master cylinders and wheel
cylinders by using the casting numbers on the
cylinder.

If there are any "real" auto supplies (as in one
with old books and an employee that appreciates a
challenge!) left in your area might give them a
shot at it. I'm sure there are many antique auto
parts suppliers online too, just haven't
personally used any.

If nothing is available new, you may find someone
that can rebuild your old ones, they replate them
somehow, good as new.

Thank you Steve. I will give that a try. I'm attacking the project tonight!
