Skid loader VH4D gas tank

Hi all, still working the bugs out . A few months ago I decided to buy a new plastic fuel tank, it only came with a cap and of course the outlet at the bottom, NO VENT on top? When I gas up a lot of pressure seems to be in the tank do I need to vent this and can it be something simple at the top filler neck? I would think by NOT venting it would affect the fuel flow? Thanks Scott

If the cap doesn't have a hidden vent hole, you can get a small gear case vent fitting that has a metal cap on top to keep rain out and drill and tap a hole in the cap or tank body if the plastic is thick enough for threads. Any auto parts store should carry the vent fittings.

It is hard to tell from your picture, but a lot of those plastic tanks have a groove cut vertically across the threads on the filler spout for a vent. It looks like yours might have that. Can you post a photo with the cap off?
