8n front mount distributor

Two questions will removing breaker plate on 8n front mount distributor throw off timing. The little coper strap does it attach to where condensor wire attaches and to the little screw that holds the two little pieces of metal with the points.

1. I linked the timing procedure below. That not withstanding, if you mark where the timing adjusting screw is and put it back there, timing will be @ what it was before.

2. In the thread you started previously, I wrote about the copper strip/points/screw the coiled "spring thing"hanging down from the coil contacts. NO need to write it all out again!
