ive got a leak

Well, first of all, what'cha got?

If it has an old-fashioned "rope" rear seal, "mechanic-in-a-can" for sure won't help.

If it has a one or two piece rubber seal, that stuff MAY work for a while, IF the seal isn't completely worn out or damaged/torn.

It works by chemically causing the rubber to swell, at least temporarily making the seal tighter against the shaft.

I tried some of that stuff one time years ago and it cost me a stuck oil pump relief valve and the time and $$ to fix it. A small leak by far is better then hoping some snake oil fix will fix your problem.
