4430 clutch pedal not releasing

Hi there,
JD 4430 with quad range clutch pedal does not always release all the way up. Tractor is very jumpy when this happens. Again this only happens once in a while. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

There"s a return/anti-rattle spring just above the clutch pedal, and a return spring down below at the clutch valve. First, check that they are in place.

Sagged cab mounts can cause linkage to bind. Make sure that is not the case, and that the rod is not binding at either end.

If all that checks out, you have an issue in the clutch valve down below.

Could be as simple as the shaft that passes through to aluminum body to operate the clutch valve sticking, to a broken spring or scored valve in the clutch valve assemblt.
