anyone know why the clutch would stick on a jd 2460 when tractor has warmed up? works fine when first started. any info appreciated . thanks

I have a sticky one on an M5 MM. I believe the clutch fingers are wore down uneven on it. It works fine when first using it, but after its been used for a bit then it takes about 5-8 feet before you stop.

We had a problem like that with a 4010 Deere years ago.It ended up being that the clutch disc was wore out down past the grooves and when warm it would vacume to the flywheel and not release. It was real bad when plowing in rocks with a trip plow that required lots of backing up to reset the plow bottoms.A new disc fixed ours hope yours is as simple.

Never thought about that. So that's what the grooves are for! Makes sense now.
