Ok,,,,
how in the world are you supposed to climb up the back of this JD 720 to get in the seat?
56 mod with clamshell fender's?
Ive seen steps on them.. but where do you put your right foot to hold seat and I guess get on axle with left foot and then seat?

They made them fun to get on, didn't they? I'm 33 and have no problem getting on my 60. Mounting on the left rear - right foot on side of hitch, right hand on seat, left foot on axle housing, left hand on fender or wheel, and I'm up. If I were 66, I'd bet it'd be more of an adventure.

I saw a homemade rig on a 530 once. It had set of steps very similar to the deluxe steps you can buy for the 20, 30, 40, 50 series tractors in front of the flywheel cover and some scaffolding back to the operator's station...

Taking out the standard model with the larger fenders? We just step up from the left rear. My 83yr old Father has no problems.

I had a 730 with clamshells and a factory 3 point. I really don't remember. Seems like I had to take ahold of the back of the seat, step on the drawbar, then climb around on the 3 point.

On tractors with 3-poionts I put the step on the front of the rear axle on the flywheel side and get on from the front . Why do you think the deluxe fenders have a grab hole on the flywheel side ? Also the truss setup talked about here is normal on standard treads with 3-points .

That's the reason I rarely use my 630 row crop for picking rocks. It does not have fenders but the wheels are set in for 30" rows. There is a step on both the rear and front of the rear axle but it's still a bit unhandy when I'm getting on and off fifty times or more in a day. All it takes is banging the right knee on the three point hitch one time and we go home to get the SC Case. Jim
