John Deere B head gasket sealer

Will be putting the head back on my 39 B when the gasket set shows up and wondering if I should put sealer on the gasket or just install it as is with maybe just a oil dip. Seems hard to do it wrong with such low compression and no pressure in the cooling system but would rather just do it once.

If the gasket is laminated steel, spray it with Copper Coat according to instructions on the can. It"s as good as anything.

(A cheap can of aluminum paint from the Dollar Store works too!)

i actually used the aluminum paint trick a number of years ago on that allis G i have.

so far so good. 9ys now.

I too would use the copper spray. No good reason
not to.
