Piston ring gap

I just buttoned up my engine after rebuilding it using a rebuild kit from this site and realized I forgot to check the piston ring gap. I replaced sleeves, pistons, rings (Perkins A4.318 diesel).
Do brand new rings typically come with the correct gap (when using new dry sleeves)?
Is it risky to assume that the rings are good to go right out of the package? I am more worried about minimum gap than maximum.

When buying a sleeve kit you should have no worries, measuring ring gap would be no more critical than measuring piston weight. There will always be the exception, but while some will tell you to open it back up, most would say don't loose any sleep over it.
