50 john deere flywheel

I recently got a 50 john deere. Upon inspection of the flywheel I noticed two large cracks. Plus the pulley is stuck. The guy I got it from told me that a late B flywheel and pulley would fit. I have a 51 parts B but would rather not take it apart if it's not gonna work. Anyone tried this swap before? Are they really interchangeable?

"50" flywheel = DEERE part #AB3844R.

"B" flywheel tractor serial number 201000 and up = DEERE part #AB3844.

You can check it out for yourself by opening the perspective parts catalogs over at jdparts.com. (The older stuff, such as this is in .pdf format, and is even printable and downloadable.)

JD web site has the parts list.
I would not trust the person who gave you the B to 50 parts interchange.

The 50's live pto pulley assembly swaps with a B ?

The late B flywheel will fit but may not have the timing marks around the outside edge like the 50 has.
Not sure about the complete pulley ? But even though they carry different part numbers the clutch driver will fit and work and the other clutch parts inside should too.
Your clutch may just free up ok with some TLC and penetrant oil. Pop the cover off and work on loosening up the 3 castle nuts and see if that will make it budge.
