I have an early '43 2N tractor that is accoding to a local tractor guy 95% original. I am in process of getting it back running and planning to rebuild the starter and generator. Would I be better to stay with the 6 volt electrical system or change to 12 volt? I have checked and it will roughly cost the same to do either. Will the value be better all original or converted. I don't need this tractor am I am looking to sell it and want to do what would be most desirable.

epends on the buyer....some will want originality, some function.

You can find hundreds of feet of column space in the archives on this debate. Purists say if you keep your connections good and have adequately sized cables that six volts is plenty. For your situation I think that leaving it six volts would be best. Just don't leave them painted black. It looks redneck

As quick as the Bendix liked to kick out on those starters, they're more functional as a 6 volt.
