Hello all,
I ended up switching a few wires around on the mag to match the correct order they were firing and it worked .......thank god! I wanted to take a moment to thank some folks El toro, Bob, 292 Ralph, Teddy 52 food,JD seller, Tramway guy,Jo bird.

I wouldn't have figured this out without your help and I really appreciate your feedback, I said from the beginning I never messed around with an engine on this level and you guy's understood that and had lots of patience and I appreciate the help thank you all.

CONGRATULATIONS!

And you know quite about more about how an engine works/timing, etc. than before!

Scott I am glad you got it figured out. It sounds like you have a good bit invested and then to have the issues you having makes it tough.

I did not do much of anything. El Toro and others have been helping far more than my little bit.

So I will second the HATS OFF to them for their help to us all.

You must remember that plug wires need to be installed on the cap in the firing order on about all engines and connected to the correct plugs. Hal

2-1
4-3 As the rotor rotates CW.

Yes , you have it running, but I can't believe it is hitting on all 4. Unless it is a different mag than what I think you have.

Congrats on getting it to run.you are now a certified wisconsin timing exspurt.I see you have the right mag.I had to almost stand on my head to see your picture post of the mag.I also know I could have flipped the pic.Ralph

Figuring the timing mainly , blowing up the old mag, had to send it away to get rebuilt. Pretty much finishing the job where the crappy machine shop left off.

Mucho kudos for perseverance! Been an interesting read. Success always feels good! I know I"ve learned some...always did the wire in the plug hole to find TDC....but learned about the valve getting in the way on this particular engine. Glad it"s running for you-

Thanks, it"s had high and lows for sure but when it started it was all worth it. Next comes hydro licks hopefully they work and other then changeling the fluid and filter I will be done.
