Fairbanks Morse Model J Magneto

Working on a model J 4A11 magneto and I can't get the rotor to slide off. Anyone out there ran in to this and any suggestions?

I can not do it that way with my system that is why on the forums my e-mail is always open so just click on send e-mail or click on my name it on the modern side

With any mag, it should pull straight off. Use a pry equal on both sides.

hi.
the rotor is held into the front bearing by a little wire clip located behind the front seal. pull the impulse and behind this is the front seal retainer is staked into the housing its normally fairly easy to remove the staked over material and pick out the retainer followed by the seal and the rear disc will shake out, behind this you will see the wire clip remove with a small sharp screw driver. remember to fit some kind of keeper too the rotor as its removed.
