VH4D start update

Hi all,
I think I have it, fuel flow is not right, I think something was blocking the line it"s clear now but I"m not sure if the sudden flow of gas was too much for the pump or what because when I unblocked the line I used a fuel transfer small thin hose and sucked on it to draw the gas from the can into the pump and when gas hit the pump it leaked all around the gasket, the screws are tight around the pump and the gasket seems ok? Not sure what to do now ? New gasket?

Is that a new pump? I would replace it. Hal
PS: If it's new I would call the shop where you purchased it.

Hal, It was new and part of the package deal i had with the shop, I found out yesterday the shop is OUT OF BUSSINESS. I may have to get a new one but what would make a new pump leak and I mean LEAK not a drip it ran pretty good out from all around the edge where the gasket is, I attaced a picture and I will research either a new one or maybe if they make a form a gasket material for fuel pumps I dont know?

P.S. I took out all the screws around the unit to look at the gasket and it seems fine. as it was leaking I tightened down the screws in a cross pattern and still leaked bad.

That"s NOT exactly a gasket... it's the fuel pump diaphragm.

Was it an old stock unit that perhaps has been on the shelf so long the rubberized fabric is cracked and brittle?

Doesn't appear to be old at all, when I took it apart the gasket looks brand new. I did find a used one on ebay for 45.00 so I went ahead and got it , should have in a few days.Would a sudden flow of gas rushing into the fuel pump cause the diaphragm to get damaged?
