VH4D new developments

Something interesting I just found, I took all the plugs out put the wires back on and marked the wires as they are correct off the mag 1342 is suppose to be the firing order. Ok with all the plugs out I turned the engine slowly by hand the snapping of the coupler happens at 10:00 and 5:00 what I found was when #1 is at TDC #3 plug sparks , when number #3 is at TDC #4 plug sparks, when #4 is at TDC #2 plug sparks and finally when #2 is at TDC #1 plug sparks so question is do I make my new firing order 3421 ????? If that's the case should I play with readjusting the mag a little bit or leave it alone?? At this point the mag X is seen thru the site glass but remember I'm at 10 not 12 o'clock .

I just read my post and I wanted to try to simplify , my first post sounds confusing. My cylinder rotation is still 1342 so after discovering plugs firing in another order I was going to match the firing plug to the cylinder that is TDC. Does that make sense? What about the mag?

Try moving those wires No2 becomes No1, No1 becomes No3, No3 becomes No4, No4 becomes No2. Then see if the engine will start. Hal

I have been following this thread because its interesting to me. From what i have experenced working on a volvo 5 cly. it seems to me that El Toro has the correct answer.

Keep us updated.

Scot, just think about it for a minute. It is a circular repeat........1342 is EXACTLY the same order as 3421!!! Isn't that just amazing??!! 134213421342. Select you start point. It is all the same!

If you don"t do this everyday it get confusing keeping it
straight. But thanks for your input hopefully this is it, as soon
as the sun comes up I"m on it!

Once again ole faithful Hal to the rescue, that's what I thought I should do just wanted someone else's blessing that knows more then a contractor with almost zero experience in engines, I will post the outcome later on today. Thanks Hal
