Attempting to restore 1941 B John Deere
Have all engine guts out including crank
How does oil pump head come out?
Head sets on top of what seems to be filter cartridge
This is my first John Deere restore.
Appreciate any help.

I dont know if leaks or not tractor has been sitting many years and crankcase is sludgy from having water in it. It is the only part of engine I havent got out of crankcase Im sure it needs inspection and cleaning as well.I have oil pump out just not sure about filter head in back behind crankshaft Are the bolts on bottom of filter head. Thanks for your input and opinion.

There are three bolts reached from the bottom of the canister. Also there is a metal piece inside that has to be pulled out to get at the bolts. It holds the top of the filter. Has two holes to grab with a home made slide puller. Hope this helps. Ron Mn.
