Tractor has been sitting for several years. The fuel bowl and filter is missing so we put an inline filter in the fuel line and bypassed the original one. Tank is full of diesel but can not get fuel to bleed out of the line at the injector. My two questions. Does the fuel bowl system mounted on the tractor aid in pumping the diesel to the infectors and need to be hooked up. #2. The injector pump looks like part of the block. Is there away to take it off and have it rebuilt? We can stuff a gasoline coated rag in the air filter and it will fire but we can not get it to run on its's own or pump diesel

I would replace the missing parts as the inline filter is not designed to protect the injection pump. After setting awhile the pump may have a stuck rack, a complete teardown and reseal should save it if no parts are damaged.
