rear axle seals TO-20 ferguson

SS92 Sure Seal--says replaces outer seal without removing shrink collar. TO-20 has 2 seals, one outer in bearing housing and one inner in axle. I can't figure how this will work. Also how is the bearing splash lubed if there are two seals? First time to tear a tractor down. Wade.

I think the to20 had 1 seal and I know the to30 had 2. Just did them. Took about 15 tons of pressure to get the bearing off. With 2 seals there is no way to lube it. I repacked mine with good grease and put er back together. I figure a good greasing every 40 years isn't too bad.

Some TEA-20's had two seals also just like the TO-30. The TO-20 had only the outer seal and was the only one that had the bearing lubed by the hydraulic oil. The TO-30 and TEA-20 that has an inner and outer seal, the bearings were packed with grease. I have used the sure seals myself. If the bearings are good don't mess with them. Just pack the bearing full of grease and install the sure seal. You can change the inner seal out if you want for a little extra insurance against leakage. Also lots of times the leakage is caused by over filling the hydraulic oil. Remove the bottom bolt on the dipstick cover and let it drain until it is even with that hole.
