High Tack on H valve cover gasket?

Is High Tack ok to use on a cork valve cover gasket for a Farmall H or should I just leave it dry? Does it help seal anything or is it just to adhere the gasket in place? Thanks John V.

If there is nothing to help position the gasket in place on the cover I would use Hi Tack. spray both the cover and the gasket then set it in place on the cover very carefully. I would put none on the head though.
