I have a 49 super a... Hard to crank and when it does it will just cut off. What should I check first, it is still a 6 volt system.

Bad battery cables or the wrong size battery cables will cause that as will a starter on its way out

Is there a parts list for a super a 12 volt conversion kit? I have seen kits for other models just not super a and I am not sure if they will work.

Not really a parts list as such. I do all my own from the ground up to convert to 12 volts. But I was also a Navy E.T. so wiring is child's play to me. You need an alternator for say a 1980 Chev pick up no power any thing no AC. A radio shack diode 276-1661 and the wires plus the plug that plugs in to the alternator. Archives are full of diagrams as to wiring it or I can explain it also

Mine used to do that. No spark when warm. Clean points & it ran ok until it sat awhile, then it would do it again. I was buying points from dealer. Switched to Eclin points from NAPA. No problems now for 3 years.
