Jubilee tranny noise

Hi all. New to the forum and Jubilee tractors. I just bought one at auction that runs well and holds 40 psi of oil pressure with no smoke or engine noise. However, the PTO is inop and there is a a disconcerting rattling in the tranny when the clutch is released. Any help would be most appreciated. Jim "Sell the best and ride the rest"

Since no one else has I will take a stab at it. I don't expect that they are related. The noise when clutch is released could be the transmission input shaft bearing, although I would not tend to call it a rattle. The best place to start for the PTO is to remove the cover where the lever is and see if the collar that the lever engages moves forward and back on the shafts.
