alternator wiring

Farmall A some one took generator off put on delco alternator don't charge what is the correct wiring. some are one wire, some2 wire, some3wire?
ANY INFORMATION OR DIAGRAMS would be helpful.

Does it have a small plug on the side of the alternator with a #1 and #2 in it?? Is that open or covered up?? If open the #2 wire goes to the charge post on the alternator then 10 gauge wire from the big post goes to the amp gauge and you need to switch the wires on that gauge since it has to be - ground. Then the #1 wire with say a radio shack 276-1661 diode in line goes to the ignition switch side that is hot when turned on or you can go to the ignition side of the coil and do the same thing. The silver line on that diode goes towards the alternaotr

if in doubt.. and it is a 10/12 si wire it as if it is 3 wire.

charge stud on back thru yer amp meter to battery.

jump charge stud to #2 spade.

key power thru a 194 lamp bulb to #1
